Nicolab builds StrokeViewer, an AI-powered stroke-care platform that helps clinical teams review imaging, triage patients, and coordinate care in real time. For a company working to shorten the time between a stroke and treatment, finance cannot become the operational delay.

Nicolab’s group operates across Amsterdam, Australia, and the United States. AG Accounting serves as the outsourced U.S. finance team for Nicolab, Inc., keeping the U.S. entity current, reconciled, and ready for the parent company’s reporting process.

The challenge: a U.S. entity on a global clock

A U.S. subsidiary inside an international group needs more than books that balance. Its finance function must create numbers that can move cleanly into group reporting, while staying current with the local payroll and compliance responsibilities of employing a U.S. team.

For Nicolab, that meant:

  • A predictable monthly close aligned with the group’s reporting timetable
  • Intercompany activity reconciled with the Dutch and Australian entities before consolidation
  • U.S. payroll accounted for accurately in the general ledger, with support for a distributed team
  • Clear, comparable financial reporting for leadership across the group

The goal was not to put another accounting process on the operating team. It was to give the group a dependable U.S. finance function that runs without becoming a bottleneck.

Our approach: a U.S. finance function that speaks the group’s language

AG Accounting runs Nicolab’s U.S. accounting around three connected workflows.

Bookkeeping and monthly close. Every transaction is coded, bank and card accounts are reconciled, and the close follows a disciplined calendar designed around the group’s reporting deadlines.

Intercompany and parent reporting. We reconcile intercompany balances each month and deliver U.S. reporting in the format the group needs for consolidation. Leadership receives numbers that are ready to use, rather than a separate reconciliation project.

Payroll accounting and compliance support. U.S. payroll is recorded accurately in the general ledger, with ongoing support for the accounting and compliance requirements that come with employing a team across states.

Continuous review before reporting. AG Accounting’s review workflows flag anomalies, duplicate activity, and potential miscategorizations before they reach the monthly reports. That gives the close process a second layer of attention without adding unnecessary work for the Nicolab team.

The result: one less clock to watch

The U.S. close lands on schedule. The accounting calendar stays in step with the group’s reporting process, so financial information is ready when Amsterdam and Australia need it.

Intercompany balances are clean for consolidation. Monthly reconciliation keeps the U.S. entity and parent reporting aligned, reducing loose ends at group close.

Payroll accounting is handled with confidence. The U.S. team has accurate payroll accounting and practical support for its compliance responsibilities.

Leadership can stay focused on stroke care. Nicolab’s operating team spends less time chasing ledgers and more time supporting hospitals, clinicians, and patients.

Running a company across Amsterdam, Australia and the U.S. means three time zones and one set of numbers that has to be right. AG Accounting gives us exactly that for our U.S. business, so we can put our energy into expanding access to faster stroke care.
